SQL Server 2016 and 2017 upgrade, and SSRS to Power BI
SQL Server 2016 is out of support. We inventory your servers and SSRS reports with the free db-agent CLI, then upgrade and move reports at a fixed price.
- SQL Server 2016
- Support ended July 14, 2026
- SQL Server 2017
- Support ends October 12, 2027
Step 1: free inventory with db-agent
db-agent is a free, open-source, read-only command line tool. It lists your databases, linked servers and Agent jobs, flags what will break in an upgrade, and sorts every SSRS report into move, review or retire. You can run it yourself or we run it with you. It needs only a read-only login.
What the fixed-price project covers
One price for an agreed scope, set after the inventory.
Inventory and risk report
Every database, linked server and Agent job, and each upgrade risk with the Microsoft page it comes from.
Upgrade plan
The target (a newer SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Database), the order of work, the change window and the way back.
The upgrade
We run the upgrade with your team, using the plan you approved.
SSRS triage and report moves
Each report sorted into move, review or retire. We move the ones worth moving, such as to Power BI.
Checks after the move
We compare row counts and totals on the old and new server for the reports we moved, and give you the results.
One price. We run it. You use it.
- One fixed price for an agreed scope, set before work starts.
- Self-service tools: the inventory is a free CLI you can run yourself.
- Full support from us through the upgrade and the checks after it.
- No surprise costs. If the scope changes, we agree it with you first.
